Briefs: Search for kayaker on hold

Authorities didn't search Lake Michigan for a missing Gurnee man Wednesday because of choppy water. Lake County sheriff's police and Waukegan firefighters hope conditions on the water will be more favorable today so they can resume the search for Walter Doroba, 44, who was last seen Sunday. His kayak was found that afternoon on the lake east of Waukegan. Searchers plan to use sonar to look underwater for Doroba, police said.
