20-year-old shot in Arlington Hts.

A 20-year-old Arlington Heights man was treated at released from Northwest Community Hospital today after he was shot in the chest Wednesday night.

"We're still trying to sort everything out and figure out just what happened," said Sgt. Tom Seleski of the Arlington Heights Police Department.

Police did not release the victim's name today.

The man was shot around 10:30 p.m. outside the Tanglewood Apartments, located in the 2100 block of South Goebbert Road, Seleski said.

"One of the things we're investigating is whether the man was a target or if he was in the wrong place at the wrong time," he said.

Police are canvassing the neighborhood and looking for witnesses today, Seleski said.

A neighbor called 911 after hearing gun shots, Seleski said.
