Musical theater:Œ"Thoroughly Modern Millie," the story of a small-town girl who moves to the big city, takes stage at 8 p.m. Thursday to Saturday at Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave, Naperville. Tickets are $15 adults, $10 for students and seniors, and may be purchased at the door or in advance. For details, (630) 637-7469.

Mathematics lectures: North Central, a member of the Associated Colleges of the Chicago Area, hosts a meeting and lecture series of the ACCA math division on Tuesday at Smith Hall at Old Main, 30 N. Brainard St., Naperville. Herbert Kasube, associate professor of mathematics at Bradley University in Peoria, speaks on "I Didn't Go to Disney World, I went to Euler World" at 5 p.m. The lecture presents an overview of the 18th century mathematician Leonard Euler. The second lecture, "Leonard Euler -- Why Should We Care About His Mathematics?," begins at 7 p.m. and covers some of Euler's most influential mathematics and how they are still relevant today. Between the two lectures, pizza will be served at Harold and Eva White Activities Center, 325 E. Benton Ave., Naperville. Art exhibit: Four North Central students reflect on their lives in a collaborative collection of two- and three-dimensional art work, "Self-Portraiture through Slip-Casting" on display through Nov. 11 in the gallery of Oesterle Library, 320 E. School St., Naperville. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to midnight Mondays through Thursdays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays, and noon to midnight Sundays. Free. High school open house: Gifted high school students may learn how they can earn up to two years of college credit at North Central College while continuing attendance at their current high schools at a open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 13 at Koten Chapel at Kiekhofer Hall, 329 E. School St., Naperville. Students from area high schools -- including Naperville Central, Naperville North, Neuqua Valley, Waubonsie Valley, and the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy -- are eligible to apply for the Lederman Scholars Program.
