Bulls returning to ESPN 1000

The Bulls announced today that they have agreed in principle to a five-year radio broadcast agreement with ESPN 1000 (WMVP-AM).

Beginning with the Bulls 2007-08 season opener on Wednesday at New Jersey, all regular season games, playoff games, three preseason games, halftime, pregame and postgame shows will air on ESPN 1000. Per team policy, financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The Bulls radio broadcasts were heard on WCKG 105.9-FM for one year during the 2006-07 season. The change to ESPN 1000 occurred in conjunction with WCKG-FM’s announcement that they are in the process of changing formats.

"The Chicago Bulls appreciate our association with everyone at WCKG-FM from Rod Zimmerman to Drew Hayes to Steve Dahl," said Steve Schanwald, Executive Vice President of Business Operations for the Bulls. "But, we are really excited to return our broadcasts to ESPN 1000 where we had been for the prior 10 years before we left for WCKG-FM."

"With this team positioned for a long run at the top, it's only fitting that they return to the station where they won their last championship," said Jim Pastor, President and General Manager of ESPN 1000. "This is a wonderful homecoming for both ESPN 1000 and the Chicago Bulls."
