2 Hanover Park men indicted on multiple charges

Two Hanover Park men were indicted on multiple charges in connection with an alleged kidnapping and armed robbery, officials with the Cook County state's attorney's office said.

Akeem Duncan, 17, of 7078 Orchard Lane and Roderick Mayes, 37, whose address is listed as 6713 Hickory St., each are charged with two counts of kidnapping and individual counts of home invasion, armed robbery, residential burglary, aggravated robbery, robbery, aggravated unlawful restraint and unlawful restraint.

The men are accused of forcing a man to drive them from the 1300 block of Kingsbury Lane to an ATM and withdraw $20 on Oct. 2. Prosecutors say the men then had the victim take them back to his residence, where they allegedly stole a house phone, camera, portable DVD player and $75 in change.

Duncan is free on bail. Mayes remains in the Cook County jail, held on $50,000 bond, records show. The two are scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 15.
