Wolves stay undefeated

Center Alexandre Giroux scored 2 goals, and teammates Steve Martins and Joel Kwiatkowski each collected 3 points as the Chicago Wolves ran their record to a perfect 6-0 with a 4-1 victory over the San Antonio Rampage at the Allstate Arena on Friday night at the Allstate Arena.

Giroux netted both of his goals in a span of 2:15 early in the first period to push the Wolves, the American Hockey League's only remaining undefeated team, to a 2-0 lead at the 6:39 mark of the first stanza. Seventy seconds later, Kwiatkowski fired a blast past Rampage goaltender David Aebischer to make it 3-0 at 7:49 of the opening period.

Kwiatkowski added 2 assists while Steve Martins also picked up a goal and 2 assists for the Wolves, off to their best start in franchise history. Wolves goaltender Fred Brathwaite (4-0) saved out 30 of the 31 shots he faced for his fourth straight win.
