Scant attention paid to vital science
We owe gratitude to Al Gore for his initiative in bringing the dangers of greenhouse-gas emissions to the attention of the world.
But the world owes much more to Indian scientist Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, the co-winner of the Nobel Prize, who in 1988 informed the International Association of Energy Economics of the dangers of carbon emissions.
But who outside of the scientific community would have known had Al Gore, known far and wide as a politician, not devoted his time to bringing the warnings of Dr. Pachauri and the scientific community to the attention of the world?
What a sad commentary.
