• St. Margaret Mary Parish in Naperville has welcomed Father Paul Hottinger as a new pastor.

• Our Saviour's Lutheran Church will hold a children's Great Pumpkin Halloween Party from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the Celebration Community Center, 919 S. Washington St., Naperville. Those attending should wear costumes for a party of games, pumpkin art and a spooky search for the Great Pumpkin for ages 3-11 years. Donation is $5 per person for the church's youth ministry. • Word of Life Lutheran Church will hold a Spook-ghetti dinner at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, 879 Tudor Drive, Naperville. The event includes a costume contest and games for all ages. Donations of unwrapped new gifts for newborns to teens from $5 to $20 will be welcome to support the San Pablo Lutheran Church's Christmas market in Aurora. The gifts will be distributed to needy families of the San Pablo English as a Second Language program. This is a service project of Word of Life's junior youth group. • River Valley Community Church's Singles FOCUS, Fellowship of Christians United in Spirit, meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays with a light meal at 6:30 p.m. at River Valley Community Church, 1655 Bowman Drive, Aurora.

The group is planning a trip to "Scrooge the Comedy" Nov. 23 at the White Pines Dinner Theater. The show is audience participation with a dinner buffet.
