Victory Centre of Bartlett notes
The following events will be held at the Victory Centre of Bartlett, 1101 W. Bartlett Road. Most are free and open to the public, but reservations are encouraged. For more information, call Rita at (630) 213-0100.
• Happy Hour Party, 3 p.m. today -- Celebrate Harvest Fest with a Happy Hour Party featuring Elgin resident Bob Kurtz on piano.
Bob is the original Shakey's Pizza piano performer who led sing-a-longs all over Chicagoland. He also belonged to the first Dixieland band of the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles.
• Silver Belles sing-a-long, 2 p.m. Monday -- The Hanover Township Silver Belles will perform a program of sing-a-long golden oldies, led by accompanist Audrey Knutson.
Several members of the Silver Belles are residents of Victory Centre of Bartlett.
• Red Hat Halloween, 10:30 a.m. Wednesday -- The Ladies of Victory Chapter of the Red Hat Society present a Halloween treat with cabaret singer Heather Braodakis in "Blue Moon."
Songs will include "Moon River," "Blue Moon," "Fly Me to the Moon," and "That's Amore." Costumes encouraged.
• Trick or Treat, 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday -- The Victory Centre is a safe haven for children to trick or treat in costume, and residents will be in the lobby to give out candy.

• Ted Gorski, 3 p.m. Nov. 2 -- Singer Ted Gorski of Geneva will present an old-fashioned sing-along playing music on the piano from the 1800's to the 1900's. Ted also tells clean jokes. He has performed organ at the Chicago Opera House, Medina Temple, Tivoli Theater, Gateway Theater, Pickwick Theater and Rialto Theater.
• Eye glass repair, 1:30 p.m. Nov. 4 -- Kim Schubring, store manager of Sears Optical in Bartlett will offer free eye glass repair and adjustments. Appointments are needed.
• Drumming circle: 3 p.m. Nov. 5 -- In honor of International Drum Month, registered music therapist Rita Lopienski will present "Drumming Circles - The Rhythm of Life." Learn the history and culture of exotic drums from around the world, and experience firsthand how playing these drums releases stress, promotes creativity and self expression. Instruments will be provided. All ages welcome.
• Piano recital: 3 p.m. Nov. 6 --The Ladies of Victory Chapter of the Red Hat Society host Bartlett resident Phyllis Muhling with a piano recital. Phyllis was a long time piano instructor in the area, and is active with local music educators clubs and is the pianist of the Bartlett Adult Chorus.
