Two arrested in Aurora prostitution sting

Aurora police have arrested two people in connection with operating a house of prostitution in an apartment on the city's far east side, authorities said Thursday.

Police on Wednesday night charged Edward J. Green, 40, of the 300 block of North Oakhurst Drive, and Megan E. Morris, 26, of the 400 block of Offutt Lane in North Aurora, with keeping a house of prostitution.

Morris also was charged with prostitution and Green, who was leasing the apartment on Oakhurst Drive, was charged with pandering, a felony.

The house had been in business for "at least a period of weeks," police spokesman Dan Ferrelli said.

A third person, Andrae L. Griffin, 39, of the 900 block of Apple Court in Aurora, was in the apartment when police arrived with a search warrant.

He was arrested on an outstanding warrant for forgery.

Two others also present were released without being charged.

The investigation started after police got a tip about a man who went to Green's apartment after seeing an ad for illegal sexual services on the Web site Craigslist, police said.

The man was robbed by two men, police said.

From that tip, an undercover police investigator contacted Morris and arranged a meeting on Wednesday, police said.

The male officer was offered sex in exchange for money.

All three are being held in city jail pending bond call, Ferrelli said.

In recent months, police have made other prostitution-related arrests using information from Craigslist.
