Shamrox to return as lacrosse league OKs deal

NEW YORK - The National Lacrosse League salvaged its 2008 season by agreeing to a new collective bargaining agreement with the union.

For the Chicago Shamrox, the eight-game home season is tentatively scheduled to get under way in January at the Sears Centre.

The league announced last week that it was canceling the upcoming season after the two sides failed to settle on terms.

The seven-year deal will run through the 2014 season.

A revised schedule for the 2008 season is expected to be announced next week.
