Railroad Garden gets into the spirit

The Chicago Botanic Garden's Model Railroad Garden, which is open daily through Sunday, will be decorated for Halloween during a special "Trains, Tricks & Treats" event on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The garden will be decorated with spider webs, spiders, ghosts, goblins and pumpkins, as well as seasonal plant materials. Visitors, volunteers and garden staff are encouraged to come in costume.

An array of treats, including candy, temporary tattoos and glow sticks can be picked up throughout the Model Railroad Garden.

Kids can take part in planting activities. Tickets are available at the kiosk.

Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 2-12. Members save $1.

Standard parking fees apply.
