Abuse suspect found, arrested in Texas
A man wanted on a Lake County sheriff's office warrant for several sex charges was arrested by Texas police Monday, police said.
James Michael Lindergr Casey, 59, address unknown, was arrested in Hidalgo County, Texas, on five counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and eight counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, the Hidalgo County sheriff's office said in a press release.
Hidalgo police said they were contacted by the Lake County sheriff's office around 11 a.m. Monday and were able to arrest Casey about three hours later.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Guadalupe Trevino said they assigned two investigators to work full time on locating Casey Monday.
"Even though law enforcement is supposed to be unbiased, there is nothing more distasteful to us then a child predator," Trevino said.
Lake County sheriff's officials have agreed to extradite Casey, Hidalgo police said.
Information regarding how long sheriff's police have been searching for Casey and details about the charges were not available late Tuesday. Lake County sheriff's officials are expected to release more information early this morning.
