Suburban podiatrist accused of solicitation, eavesdropping

An East Dundee podiatrist has been charged with eavesdropping after police say they found videotapes and DVDs showing him in sex acts with female patients in an examining room.

Dr. Steven P. Loheide, 63, of Algonquin, who works at Fox Valley Podiatry in East Dundee, faces two counts of eavesdropping, unauthorized video recording, solicitation of a sex act and battery, police said.

The case began last week when an employee of Fox Valley Podiatry told police she found a tape of herself undressing in the examination room used for that purpose.

She told police she had been unaware of the videotaping when it occurred and that she then found a camera that had been hidden in the room.

She also told police that Loheide had improperly touched her and solicited her for a sex act.

Loheide has posted a $10,000 bond to be released from jail. He is to appear in Kane County court at 9 a.m. Nov. 1

Police continue to try to identify the women in the tapes and DVDs. If you have any information, you're asked to call Detective Mike Seyller at (847) 428-4034.

Loehide has had offices in Skokie and Carpentersville and has current practices at the Village Green Retirement Center in East Dundee, the Elgin Mental Health Center and an undisclosed retirement center in Palatine.
