Lyons Twp. (7-1, 4-1) at Downers North (2-6, 1-4)

Game time: 7:30 p.m., today.

Last year: Lyons 34, Downers North 27.

Last week: Lyons 21, Glenbard West 14; Downers North 21, Oak Park 12.

Outlook: A non-playoff team for the first time in 11 years, Downers North has nothing to lose while Lyons, beaten only by Hinsdale Central, aims for a portion of its first WSS title since 2000 and a high playoff seed. The Lions hung on vs. Glenbard West, using Eddie Viliunas' 190 passing yards to set up 3 rushing touchdowns within 10 yards. If Downers North can survive the size difference on the line and pursue properly, safety Andy Orton and defensive end Mike Whittington will make things tough on Viliunas. Lyons will key on Trojans junior James Gaston, who ran for 160 yards last week with a 73-yard touchdown.
