Parenting author to talk on positive discipline

Parents Encouraging Parents will present an event titled "That Child Is Driving Me Crazy! … Positive Discipline Techniques that Work" with author Gail Reichlin from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 27 in the multi-purpose room at St. Gilbert School, 231 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake.

Reichlin is a consultant to Sesame Workshop, a freelance writer on family issues, and the author of the best-selling guidebook "The Pocket Parent." She will discuss ways to minimize daily battles with children ages 2 to 10, positive discipline principles, and practical tips and solutions to everyday parenting challenges such as morning "crazies," not listening, sibling fights, whining, lying and power struggles. Her humorous examples are designed to offer strategies that work while preserving the dignity of both parent and child.

Admission is $10 per person, which includes the presentation, coffee and doughnuts.
