Carlin resigns from District 158 board
Huntley Unit District 158 school board member Jim Carlin resigned his post at the end of Thursday night's board meeting.
Carlin's resignation will not be official until he submits a formal letter of resignation to board President Shawn Green. Carlin indicated he would submit the letter today, board members said.
Board President Shawn Green said this morning he has not yet received a letter from Carlin.
Carlin was elected to the board in March. Since being elected, Carlin has been a vocal presence on the board, often serving as a foil for fellow board member Larry Snow.
After Carlin's announcement, board Vice President Tony Quagliano encouraged him to rethink his decision, but Carlin said he had already made up his mind.
"He just seemed frustrated, and it didn't seem like it was working real well," Quagliano said.
