Bilingual should be the crowded classes

Your article regarding overcrowded classrooms in Elgin School District U-46 gave only a hint of the underlying problem, and then it was only in a short statement toward the end of the piece.

It's maddening that English-speaking students must endure overcrowding while the law mandates bilingual classrooms be smaller in size.

If foreigners are racing to our schools at the last minute to sign their children up to be taught in a language other than English, then it is these families who should bear the burden of overcrowded classrooms.

Otherwise, their children should be made to assimilate right then and there by placement into classrooms where only English is spoken.
