Check will help pediatric program

Condell Medical Center's Pediatric Alternatives in Creative Therapy program recently received a donation of $5,000 from the George C. Nisbet Memorial charity golf outing, which was held Sept. 7 and organized by VW Credit, Inc.

PACT is a rehabilitation program that treats nearly 200 children a week with disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida and cancer.

"We are very appreciative of the generosity of VW Credit and the George C. Nisbet Foundation," said Monica Cioffi, manager of pediatric rehab at Condell Medical Center's PACT program. "The money is used to buy needed supplies and equipment for our program and patients. We have been blessed with donations from this event for the past four years."

PACT programs include sensory integration, physical and occupational therapy, speech pathology and more. For more information about the PACT program, call (847) 573-4390.

In addition to naming Condell as a recipient, VCI also named the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance's Camp "I Am Me" program as a beneficiary.

The VCI charity golf event honors George Nisbet, a longtime VCI employee who died of lung cancer. His family formed the George C. Nisbet Foundation to promote treatment and early detection for lung-related diseases. VCI first heard about Condell's PACT program through an employee who knew of a child who had benefited from the program.
