Pettersen ties Ochoa after 64
Suzann Pettersen, coming off a playoff victory over Lorena Ochoa last weekend, birdied the final four holes Saturday to charge into a tie with the top-ranked Mexican star in the Samsung World Championship in Palm Desert, Calif.
Pettersen shot an 8-under 64 to match Ochoa at 12-under 204 through three rounds at Big Horn Golf Club. Ochoa, the defending champion in the event for the LPGA Tour's elite players, had a 69 that included a bogey 5 on the final hole.
"Obviously this year, winning six tournaments, (Ochoa) is the world's No. 1 right now and you always chase No. 1. She is just a very nice competitor," said Pettersen, a three-time winner this year who is a distant second in the player of the year race.
Angela Park, who has clinched the 2007 rookie of the year award, shot a 69 to join Jeon Jang (68) and Mi Hyun Kim (67) at 11 under.
Michelle Wie had her lowest round of the tournament, but that was a 5-over 77. She had 79s the first two days and remained in 20th and last place at 19-over 235, 4 shots worse than Bettina Hauert of Germany in the 19th spot.

The 32-year-old McNeill -- who only last year worked as an assistant pro in Fort Myers, Fla., birdied four of his last eight holes to finish at 13-under 197.
Administaff Small Business Classic: Bernhard Langer shot a 7-under 65, easily erasing an early bogey with 8 birdies, to maintain a 4-shot lead after the second round of the Champions Tour's Administaff Small Business Classic in Spring, Texas.
Langer's 17-under 127 total broke the 36-hole tournament record of 128 set by defending champion Jay Haas last year.
World Match Play Championship: Six-time champion Ernie Els beat Henrik Stenson 3 and 2 to set up a championship match against U.S. Open winner Angel Cabrera in the World Match Play Championship in Virginia Water, England. Cabrera beat Hunter Mahan 2 and 1.
Madrid Open: Argentina's Daniel Vancsik shot a 4-under 68 to take a 2-shot lead after the third round of the Madrid Open in Madrid, Spain.
