Put legal citizens 1st and costs will drop
I agree with the person who wrote in stating that if there is more than one child in a single-family home, they should pay a higher school tax rate, but I think two children would be more reasonable. I also believe that once a person is retired, that person's tax bill should no longer be increased for schools.
I read a New York Times article titled "Our Town," in which a Catholic priest at St. Monica's church in Carpentersville stated more than half of his 3,500-member congregation is in the country illegally. That is a high number for just one church. I wonder how many illegal alien children are in the District 300 school system.
We got hit with a substantial tax increase for schools last time, and I'm sure they will be asking again to build more schools. They will again be telling parents that they will have to cut some programs at the schools. I do not believe it will work this time.
If every city, town and village took care of its illegal immigration problem, many of these issues would be eliminated or at least greatly reduced. Take care of the legal citizens who are paying the majority of the taxes.
