MCC must plan ahead, move forward

I am employed in Crystal Lake. Comments regarding the McHenry County College Master Plan have focused primarily on the Health, Wellness and Athletic Complex (HWAC). This project would provide facilities, educational, training and job opportunities, area improvements and revenue generation, without a referendum request or cost to the taxpayers.

MCC has contracted experienced engineers, architects, design and planning professionals and consultants to ensure that the project is researched, planned and completed using best practices for the long-term betterment of the college and the community. I recommend the Web site at www.mchenry.edu for complete HWAC information.

For 40 years, McHenry County College has been and will continue to be a trustworthy, thoughtful steward and concerned good neighbor that must plan for growth and public service through informed leadership, creative and inventive partnerships and funding. To prepare and train health-related professionals, for student and community education, health/wellness, athletics, recreation, etc., facility and program enhancements and expansion are much-needed.

For MCC to offer academic and other programs to serve the needs of current and future generations of students and citizens of all ages, it is imperative that the college be allowed to diligently, progressively and creatively partner and plan, as proposed, for main campus expansion in Crystal Lake.
