The Enclave offers some customizing

The Enclave features 17 new semi-custom homes in the Reserve at the Merit Club in Libertyville.

Home buyers seeking both nice views and privacy might want to check out The Enclave, a new section of semi-custom ranch and two-story homes in Libertyville.

Built by Merit Homes, The Enclave is part of a gated community called the Reserve at the Merit Club, which is made up of 102 semi-custom homes and 26 one-acre custom homes on 100 acres of rolling land.

Honored with the "Best Overall Community" award from the Home Builders Association, the community was recognized for excellence in design and construction.

The neighborhood offers views of the Merit Club, an 18-hole private golf course that is ranked as one of the top 100 courses in the world by Golf and Travel Magazines. Some of the new homes will overlook the fairways or groves of mature trees.

At The Enclave, there are seven homes to choose from including five ranch plans and two two-story designs featuring first-floor master bedrooms. Measuring 1,800 to 3,000 square feet, homes have two to four bedrooms and up to 3½ baths and are priced from the high $600,000s.

"We give our home buyers every opportunity to customize their home," said Jeri Szatko, director of sales and marketing.

Buyers start with a plan, and they can change the footprint of the house and eliminate or add rooms. In addition to the semi-custom homes, there will also be 26 custom residences.

Homeowners pay a nominal monthly maintenance fee that covers the upkeep of streets, common areas, ponds and the front entrance and guardhouse.

Homes include oak flooring, Kohler fixtures, maple cabinets, granite countertops, full masonry fireplace, Jacuzzi master bath tub, cedar shake roofs and patios.

To visit the community, take I-94 to Route 137, go west to Route 21 (Milwaukee Avenue), then north 1.5 miles to entrance. Follow the signs to the sales center, which is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Call (847) 680-0090 or visit merithomes.net.
