There's another site for new school

Are District 204 tax payers willing to pay over $16 million more for the dirt on which our new high school will be built? A jury has decided that the Brach-Brodie land will cost well over $16 million more than District 204 planned to pay for it.

There is an alternate and viable location for our new high school. Last year, a local developer (Macom) offered to sell the land at 248th and Wolf's Crossing to the district for a price well within the district's budget. This land is large enough to nicely accommodate the entire campus for the third high school, as planned. District 204 snubbed Macom's proposal and never even replied with a counteroffer.

While our young children sweat in rooms without air conditioning, how can anyone seriously consider paying over $16 million more for dirt?
