Cribbage
First place in cribbage Oct. 3 went to Elaine Kerechek who scored 484 points. Tom Fleming captured second place with 469. Kerechek also scored three hands of 24 points. Elaine Kerechek and Ed Dunn each had a hand of 24. Wally Bartels had a hand of 21. Sally Mis, Carol Charpentier, Elaine Kerechek, Ed Dunn and Fleming each had a hand of 20. There were six skunks.
Triple play
Winning at triple play canasta Oct. 4, Candy Goldfarb and Mopsy Turasky scored 115,410 points.
Duplicate bridge
Winners of duplicate bridge Oct. 5 were Ed Kelson and Wally Westphal playing north-south and Roger Clausen and John Petras for east-west. Finishing in the top four for north-south, Candy Goldfarb and John Papaleo placed second. Charlotte Irvine and Nancy Riley took third place. Sandy Johnson and Fran Logan were fourth. For east-west, Naomi Cartwright and Karen Richardson came in second. Mary Lebar and Jeanne Shore were third. Walt Figge and Barb White took fourth place.
In duplicate bridge on Oct. 1, Diane and Ray DuShane finished in first place. Bill Macomber and Ron Tenggren were second. Janet Clark and Arvind Shah took third place. Chander Aiyar and Walt Figge tied with Liz and John Rozwat for fourth place.
Contract bridge
Scoring 5,360 points gave Jean Grunow first place in contract bridge Oct. 3. Pat Danna was second with 4,190. Paul Shumate came in third with 3,950. Also in the top seven, Walt Figge was fourth with 3,800. Norma Thompson and Dan Bressler tied for fifth place at 3,730. Barb White took sixth place with 3,690.
In pairs contract bridge Oct. 2, Janice Apel and Carol Smith placed first with 6,070. Bill Macomber and Jan Zimmerman were second with 3,830. Lottie and Sig Konarski took third place with 3,620. Also among the top seven scorers were Ann Dluga and Jan Koerner, fourth, 3,480; Walt Figge and Marie Nugent, fifth, 3,300; Jean Clifton and Jean Grunow, sixth, 2,910, and Chere and Tom Anderson, seventh, 2,840.
Euchre
Fred Bartlett turned in the winning score of 69 playing euchre Oct. 4. Pearl Heaps took second place with 68. Bob Carter scored 64 to take third place. Joan Roth, Frank Rzeszutko and Don Ferrari, tied for fourth place at 60.
Bowling
Standings for the Sun City Bowling League at Brunswick Zone in Algonquin as of Sept. 26 show the Magic and the Nets in a first-place tie with 18-3 records each. The Heat was in second place with 16-5. Third place was a tie at 14-7 among the Sonics, Clippers, Rockets, Timber Wolves and Celtics. The Lakers were alone in fourth placed with 13-8. Individual high scores for women were Marilyn Meyers, high game scratch, 192, high series scratch, 541, and high series with handicap, 724. Andrea Johnson had high game with handicap, 262. Among men's high scorers, Donald Mazzone had high game scratch, 211; Frank DePino and Don Engeriser, tie for high game with handicap, 242; Dale Schoenrock, high series scratch, 562, and Fred Senft, high series with handicap, 670.
Pinochle
High score in morning pinochle Oct. 1 went to Viktor Weber with 641. Barb Hoppensteadt was low scorer with 399. Dan Bressler and Dan Wile each took a double pinochle. Playing all-trick hands were Marge Adolfson, Fran Edwards, Bernie Rodeo and Helen Szybowski. Playing that afternoon, Ed Redker turned in the high score of 636. Wally Alberts scored low at 390. Jack Gilhooly took two double pinochles. John Martinez and Sandy Richardson each had one. All-tricks went to Beverly Eisenmenger and Ed Redker. Gilhooly won the round house.
