Man faces child porn, indecent exposure charges
A 27-year-old Missouri man faces prison time after making an ill-advised pit stop in East Dundee.
Michael B. Rodriguez is charged with possession of child pornography and indecent exposure.
Police Chief Terry Mee said an officer saw a 2000 Dodge Stratus on the shoulder at Route 72 and Commonwealth Drive at about 8:18 Friday morning.
"(The car) appeared to be a disabled automobile, so one of our officers pulled behind him," Mee said.
The officer approached the car and found Rodriguez exposed, he said.
The man was arrested and police found images and videos of child pornography on his laptop computer, Mee said.
Rodriguez could not provide officers with a valid reason why he was in town. His car also was seized.
"There will be a forensic analysis of the computer," Mee said. "The investigation is ongoing and there certainly is the possibility of more charges."
The current child pornography charges carry a maximum prison term of five years.
The indecent exposure charge carries up to a year in jail.
Rodriguez remained in the Kane County jail Tuesday on $30,000 bail.
His next court date is Oct. 18.
