102 St. Charles students named to AP list

More than 100 St. Charles high schoolers have been named AP Scholars this year by the College Board, officials announced recently.

Forty-four of the students attended East High School, and 58 attended North. The number marks a 26 percent increase from last year, when 81 students received the designation, officials said.

The honor is based on results from the AP (Advanced Placement) Program Exams.

District 303 students were honored in four categories: AP Scholars, students receiving grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams; AP Scholars with Honor, students earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams; AP Scholars with Distinction, students receiving an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams; and National AP Scholars, students in the United States who receive an average grade of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken and grades of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.
