Armed man tried to rob worker

East Dundee police are looking for the armed man who tried to rob a pizza restaurant worker at 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

The worker told police the would-be robber approached him just after he got into his car outside Domino's Pizza in the River Valley Shopping Center.

The would-be robber pointed a handgun at him.

The Domino's employee, who was not a delivery driver, simply drove off -- and the gunman chased on foot for a short distance and then fled.

"The victim was not injured, and there was no property loss," East Dundee Police Chief Terry Mee said.

The robber was described as about 5 feet, 6 inches with a stocky build, short dark hair and dark eyes. He was wearing a black sweatshirt, black jeans and a black-and-white bandana, which covered his face from his nose to his chin.

In addition to the robber, police are looking for anyone who might have witnessed the attempted robbery or anyone who might have information about it.

Police ask anyone with information to call Detective Mike Seyller at (847) 428-4034.
