2 charged in Buffalo Grove robbery
Two Buffalo Grove 18-year-olds were arrested Monday morning in connection with a burglary after a Buffalo Grove resident reported seeing a man in his home.
Arturas Sigajevas, of the 100 block of Old Oak Court West, was charged with one count of residential burglary, and Artures Slizevicius, of the 0 to 100 block of Mohawk Trail, was charged with one count of possession of stolen property, police said.
Both are felony charges. The burglary count carries a potential sentence of four to 15 years. The possession of stolen property charge carries a potential one to three years in jail.
Buffalo Grove Cmdr. Steve Husak said police received a call at 1:30 a.m. Monday from the resident, who chased a man from his townhouse on Old Oak Court West. The resident had seen a man walking up the staircase, Husak said.
Both Sigajevas and Slizevicius live near the house; Husak said the burglar likely entered through an unlocked garage.
Police found some items around Sigajevas' home and questioned him, Husak said. He led them to Slizevicius.
"They had taken a whole variety of things, such as a laptop computer, cell phone, iPod, some cash," Husak said.
A GPS, radar detector and a second computer were taken from a car in the garage.
Both have bond hearings at 9:30 a.m. today in Rolling Meadows.
