Lincolnshire Prairie-View School District 103 notes

Preschool screening: Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103 will offer a preschool screening Oct. 19 for 3- and 4-year-old children for whom there may be concerns in the areas of gross or fine motor skills, speech/language or conceptual development. Vision and hearing screenings also will be offered.

Screenings will take place from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Oct. 19 at Sprague School, 2425 Riverwoods Road, Lincolnshire. To reserve an appointment time, call (847) 295-4030 Friday.

After school programs: Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103 will offer after-school programs through the school year. The first session begins the week of Oct. 15 and continues through the week of Dec. 13.

The fall session includes programs such as foreign language, claymation, digital photography, jewelry making, touch football, volleyball, cooking, sewing and chess club.

The newest programs this session are Mandarin Chinese for students in kindergarten through eighth grade and Amazing Minds for students in first and second grade.

The winter session of after-school activities begins the week of Jan. 28 and runs through the week of March 17. Spring session begins April 14 and concludes the week of May 19.

Senior Citizens Day: Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103 will host its 19th annual Senior Citizens' Day from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at Daniel Wright Junior High School.

Refreshments will be provided, and each senior who attends will receive a souvenir from the celebration.

The Daniel Wright Junior High School student chorus, orchestra, band and show choir traditionally highlight the event.
