Thanks for help at city block party

On behalf of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership -- and the First Street Marketing and Promotions Panel specifically -- we would like to thank everyone who helped make the Rockin' Block Party such a success. The block party, which took place Sept. 29 on First Street in downtown St. Charles, celebrated the re-opening of First Street and the completion of Phase 2 construction in the First Street Redevelopment project. Notable among those responsible are:

The city of St. Charles, Mayor Don DeWitte, City Administrator Brian Townsend, St. Charles Police Department, and St. Charles Public Works Department for their continuing support of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership's efforts.

Our event sponsors, including: First Street Development, LLC., STC Capital Bank, Milestone Properties, Harris St. Charles, Mascal Electric, and Blue Goose Supermarket.

All participating spotlight businesses including: Daily Herald, Steel Beam Theatre, Sammy's Bikes, Bull & Bear Tobacco Shop, Scotland Yard, Antique Market III, Forum Financial, Coffee Drop Shop, Needles & Things, MRI St. Charles, The Wine Exchange, and Arcada Theatre.

All restaurants that participated in the Taste of St. Charles including: Thai Zie, Dawn's Cafe, The Waterfront, Gramp's Frozen Custard, Jalapeno Grille, Szechwan, and Rizzo's.

The Wine Exchange for providing the wine tasting event, as well as McNally's Irish Pub for supplying the beer garden.

Each and every one of our committee members and volunteers, without whom such a wonderful event would not be possible.

And certainly, the thousands who attended the Rockin' Block Party who realize that whatever you like to do, you can do more of it in downtown St. Charles!
