Hypocrisy in anger over MoveOn ad

Like the vast majority of fellow Americans, I believe that Gen. Petraeus is a very decent man who has served his country honorably. I don't agree with the "Gen. Petraeus or Gen. Betray Us" ad in the New York Times, taken out by MoveOn.org.

But I couldn't help but be struck by the hypocrisy of Fox News and other conservative news media pundits in their outrage over the ad, calling for all Democratic politicians to denounce both the ad and Moveon.org. I seem to recall the conspicuous silence from these same, so-called journalists as the Swift Boat ads were allowed to slime the character of Sen. John Kerry with a slew of false accusations about his courage and honesty for several weeks during the last presidential campaign, shortly before the election. Where was the outrage then?

Fair and balanced? I think not.
