Carol Charpentier and John Kerechek tied for first place in cribbage Sept. 26 with scores of 484. Ralph Wehnes took second place with 480. High individual hands Sue Chiodo, 24; Terry Burkhardt, 21 and Kerechek, 20. There were four skunks.
Contract bridge
Scoring 6,310 points gave Gail Ellis first place in contract bridge Sept. 26. Taking second place was Betty Smith with 5,520. In third place, John Papaleo turned in 5,180. Remaining in the top seven winners were Bill Macomb, fourth, 4,830; Mary McCullough, fifth, 4,360; Paul Shumate, sixth, 4.280, and Lottie Konarski, seventh, 4,250.
In pairs contract bridge Sept. 25, Dan Bressler and Stewart Ellis took first place with 4,190. In a three-way tie for second place, Liz and John Rozwat matched Annabelle Gombar and Jean Grunow plus Jean and Roger Clausen at 3,760. Walt Figge and Loren Stuvick took fifth placed with 3,730. Ann and Pat Danna placed sixth with 3,700.
Duplicate bridge
First place in duplicate bridge Sept. 28 went to Paul Clark and Irene Crawford playing north-south and Steve and Bev Eldridge for east-west. For north-south, John Papaleo and Stewart Ellis placed second. Fran Logan and Sandy Johnson came in third. Grace Selby and Nancy Berg placed fourth. Runners-up for east-west were Dolores VonderHaar and Jan Zimmerman, second; Lucy Smith and Elaine Peck, third, and Jim Howard and Joan Mudd, fourth.
Playing duplicate bridge Sept. 24, Bill Christian and Hank O'Neil came in first place. Chander Aiyar and Walt Figge placed second. Bill Macomb and Ron Tenggren were third. Janet Clark and Arvind Shah came in fourth.
Pinochle
High score in morning pinochle Sept. 24 went to Jim Runtz with 615. Joe DeMay was low scorer with 420. Jan Diebold, Fran Edwards and Marlene Tresp each took a double pinochle. Pat Garcia, Ed Haberstroh, Frank Hehn and Norma Schroepel played all-trick hands.
Playing in the afternoon, Audrey Warnecke took the high score of 608. Rosemary Haskins was low scorer with 412. Taking double pinochles were Carol Charpentier, Joan Licitra, Virginia Meyer and Marge Sarrels. All-tricks went to Wally Alberts, Rich Curylo, Rose Curylo, Dick Galassi, John Kerechek, Bernie Rodeo, Eric Schoenfisch and Ray Zak.
Euchre
Pat Neal scored 68 points to capture first place in euchre Sept. 27. Bob Brown came in second with 64. Diane Losinski, Pat Rzeszutko, and Ken Welter tied for third place at 57. Jane Schroeder and Fran Sivedrstein tied for fourth place with 56.
Bowling
Standings of the Sun City Bowling League at Brunswick Zone, Algonquin had the Nets and Heat tying for first place with 14-0 records as of Sept. 19. The Magic came in second with 11-3. The Grizzlies, Bobcats and Knicks tied for third at 10-4. The Rockets, 76'ers, Lakers and Spurs shared fourth place at 9-5. In individual scoring Charlotte Cartina had women's high game scratch of 212 and high series scratch of 506. Margene DePino won high game with handicap, 279 and high series with handicap, 699. Alan Schrader had men's high game scratch of 242, high series scratch of 602 and tied with Peter Ortega and Jim Moreth for high game with handicap at 267. Bill Parker had high series with handicap at 716.
Triple play
Mopsy Turasky and Mary Belcher teamed up to win triple play canasta Sept.27 with a score of 106,075.
