Beware Kiddies!

What could be scarier for kids than that annual Halloween-ing of Chicago's Navy Pier known as "Navy Fear"? Why, the "Naturally Healthy Children's Expo"! "Navy Fear" attractions like the "Demons of the Deep" and Expo sessions on "What's Lurking in Your Home That Affects Childhood Illnesses" or "Advantages of a Television-Free Home Environment" can each scare the dickens out of kids. Pick your terror at 800 E. Grand Ave., Chicago. Tickets for "Navy Fear" attractions run $9-$19. (312) 595-7437. There is no charge for the Expo. (708) 361-6000.

"Navy Fear" runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays until Oct. 31; Expo hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Warbling princess

Lucy Lawless and other stars of "Xena: Warrior Princess" appear at the Fantasy/Sci-Fi convention this weekend at Rosemont's Wyndham O'Hare Hotel (see the Main Event and The List for more information). But aside from her suspiciously sapphic warrior, Lawless is also building a career as a singer. Find out if singing Xena will rock your world at Buddy Guy's Legends, 754 S. Wabash Ave., Chicago. Standing-room concert tickets cost $65. (800) 593-4537 or www.creationent.com.

8 p.m. today and Saturday (doors open at 7 p.m.)

Squawk! Squawk!
