Exercising choice to take human life
On Sept. 24 two letters appeared concerning comparing the Michael Vick dog-fighting case with the right to abortion. Both indicated what they perceived as an inconsistent comparison between the two.
While the legality or illegality of either cannot be denied, in Susan Schafer's letter, she states: "Dog fighting is happening to defenseless animals. One's a choice, one is not. Stop making the comparison. There is none. You're right: Where have all our standards gone?"
In my opinion, everyone has a right to make a choice, whether good or bad. And in this case, I agree with Ms. Schafer's query: "Where have all our standards gone?" No one in this country who is pro-abortion can deny there is a living being in the womb of the expectant mother. And so I would respectfully hope that whenever someone states they are for "choice," they would simply complete their phrase -- "to take the life of their unborn child."
