Celebration planned for new dance company

A benefit celebration is planned for the launch and premiere of Chicago's newest contemporary dance company -- NoMi LaMad Dance Inc.

It will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at State Street Dance Studio, 9 N. Fourth St. in Geneva. Tickets are $20 or $10 for children 12 and under. To reserve your spot on the dance floor, call (630) 232-0444.

Co-founders and artistic directors Laura Kariotis, an instructor at State Street Dance Studio in Geneva, and St. Charles native Madeline J. Renwick bring NoMi LaMad Dance Inc. with the mission to integrate dance as a language in everyday life.

In addition to the performance, this inaugural event will include complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres from Citizen Kane of Geneva; complimentary spa service and gift bags from Zano's Salon & Spa; artwork presented by Gallery 28 of Geneva; free ballroom lesson by Alex Artega from State Street; and brownies by Movable Feast.

Silent auction items include an evening package with a gift certificate and wine by Geneva's Isabella's restaurant and two tickets to State Street's "Nutcracker;" a Starbucks Barista espresso machine; two tickets to Stars of Chicago Dance Explosion!; and four single-class 8-week sessions at State Street Dance Studio.
