Long Grove to celebrate all things apple at festival

The 15th Annual Long Grove Apple Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Celebrate fall's favorite fruit and the many ways to enjoy it, including Long Grove's brown bag apple pies and apple cider doughnuts, hot apple cider, caramel apple lattes, apple martinis and more.

There is no charge for admission or parking in the municipal lots and at Kildeer School Saturday and Sunday only. More parking is available at Midwest Bank with a donation to the Lions Club and at the Long Grove Community Church, just west of the bridge, for a $5 donation.

There will be a free shuttle from Geimer's Greenhouses on Hicks Road, just north of Lake Cook Road. Park there and ride to town and back until 5 p.m.

Visitors will receive a free Long Grove collectable tote bag with $150 in cumulative purchase receipts from the weekend. Turn in receipts at the Welcome Tent. One bag per customer per day while quantities last.

Treats will be available in the restaurants and food vendors throughout town.

There will also be free entertainment on two stages, a Kids' Apple Jam Expo and scarecrows decorated by the merchants will be scattered throughout town. Visitors can vote for their favorite scarecrows and be entered into a drawing for prizes.
