Township's GOP day a success
On Sept. 22 in Aurora, the Aurora Township Republican Central Committee, Aurora Republican Women and the Kane County Chapter of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly brought back to life a family event initiated years ago by the late Mary Richards; the Kane County Republican Fun Day.
The event brings families together to meet and mingle with Republican elected officials and candidates in a fun environment. Mary never lost sight of what, and who, makes public service worth the effort. It is the people we serve and the children of our community that matter most.
We wish to thank the elected officials and candidates who made the day a success.
Kane County Board Chairman Karen McConnaughay, Kane County Circuit Clerk Deb Seyller, Kane County Board member Bill Wyatt, Aurora Alderman-at-Large Richard Irvin, 2nd Ward Aurora Alderman Juany Garza, 4th Ward Aurora Alderman Rick Lawrence, Aurora Township Trustee Dr. Monica Silva; Geneva Mayor and congressional candidate Kevin Burns; and Kay Hatcher, Kendall County Forest Preserve president/board member and candidate for State Representative in the 50th District.
And the following candidates: Jim Oberweis, 14thU.S. Congressional District; Terri Wintermute, 42nd State Senate District; Doug Sullivan, Kane County Board District 2; Nancy Hopp, Kane County Board District 4; Penny Falcon, Kane County Board District 6, Fred Morelli, Aurora subcircuit judge; John Rizzuto, Aurora subcircuit judge; Terry Hunt, State Representative, 50th District.
Most of all we want to thank the families and the children for making the event special.
We'll see you next year as we continue with this tradition.
