Bush shouldn't borrow to fund war

The Bush administration is asking for more "emergency" funding for the war, a total of nearly $190 billion this year alone. Bush refuses to ask the American public to pay for the war but is borrowing the money instead. It must seem to him like there is an endless supply. Bush and his allies should take a look at what has happened to housing when people -- or nations -- borrow too much.

If this war is indeed as important to our national security as Bush tells us it is, than he needs to demand that we pay for it. But this would mean raising taxes and if that happened, how long do you think we would still be in Iraq? Not long.

This war has become more about Bush's ego than about the security of our country -and possibly always has been.
