In the display cases: In honor of the centennial of the birth of Gene Autry, several hundred items from a collection of Autry memorabilia are featured in the display cases on the first floor.

The items are from the collection of Dick Dzwonkiewicz of Mundelein, a long-time Autry fan.

Autry was born on Sept. 29, 1907. His career spanned some 70 years in the entertainment industry, and he became famous in film, radio, television and live theater and rodeo performances. He completed 93 movies and starred in 91 television productions.

The tutors will be available in the library's Youth Services Department study rooms on the first floor. Students should bring their textbooks and a calculator, if needed. The tutoring service is free, and tutors will see students on a first-come, first-served basis, so no reservations are needed.

For information, call (847) 918-3218, or ask at the Youth Services desk.
