Spanish interpreter order must be joke

There is a lawsuit against Kane County because they did not adequately accommodate Spanish-speaking voters? Is this a joke?

Yes, polls should be open during hours that all voters will find convenient.

What does this have to do with Spanish-speaking voters?

And why in the world would there need to be bilingual election judges and translations of election-related information for Spanish-speaking voters?

I cannot be the only one who is angered by this and finds this ridiculous. These people are voting in an American election.

Is it so crazy of me to believe that a voter should be able to speak, read and understand the language of the nation in which they are voting?

I have absolutely nothing against Spanish-speaking immigrants or immigration in general. The "melting pot" of different nationalities is what makes the United States so great.

My family and I moved to the U.S. from Poland many years ago. Never did we rely on translations and bilingual laws to help us with anything, much less something like voting.

My whole family took the time and effort to learn the language of the county that we had immigrated to.

If the county is required to accommodate Spanish speakers, let's accommodate all nationalities residing here.

How often do we see the people who speak other languages being accommodated?

We don't, and none of those people expect to be accommodated. What makes the Spanish speakers so special?

We live in America. Our national language is English. I would never move to another country and expect people to accommodate me because I do not know their language.
