Tennis courts to honor parks commissioner

On Sunday, the Dundee Township Park District Board of Commissioners invites community residents to attend the dedication of the Barb Lachel Tennis Courts.

The dedication will take place at noon in Huffman Park, 811 Tartans Drive, West Dundee. A three-court lighted tennis complex has been constructed in Huffman Park.

Lachel served for 18 years as a Dundee Township Park District commissioner until her death in February. She was a life-long resident of Dundee Township and was principal of Summit School at the time of her death.

Lachel and her husband shared a mutual love for tennis.
