Briefs: Acorn Inc. receives new site approval

BUFFALO GROVE -- Akorn Inc. announced it received approval of an alternate manufacturing site for IC-Green from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Akorn will begin customer shipments immediately. Currently, the customer order backlog for IC-Green is about $3 million. Akorn said it regrets any inconvenience this drug shortage has created, and is pleased to re-launch IC-Green into the marketplace. Akorn manufactures and markets sterile specialty pharmaceuticals.

Kitchen discount shop holds opening

Kitchen Discounters of America celebrates the grand opening of ifs new Lake Zurich showroom from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Hawthorn Woods resident Jeff Schreiber owns the store at 177 S. Rand Road in the Lake View Plaza. He has been a wholesale and retail distributor of cabinets and countertops since 1989. His brother, Devin, assists in the operation. The shop is a wholesale distributor as well as a remodeling company. Kitchen Craft, Wellborn Forest, Kohler, Cambria, Wilsonart and Elkay are a few of the lines offered.
