Thanks for help at Geneva event

Lucky ducks -- that is how we all feel after successfully hosting the third annual Mighty Viking Boat Race and Family Fest on Sept. 15.

We are so lucky to have the support of the community, our sponsors, the park district, city services, District 304 schools and school board members, the chamber of commerce, mayors office and the many volunteers who came out on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon to support the Geneva Academic Foundation. Our mission continues to be raising funds to enhance the educational experience of children in our Geneva schools, and thanks to the support we receive from all of you, we continue to be successful in reaching our goals.

The weather threw us a curveball and required us to change both the location and main event, but that did not dampen our spirits one bit! Everyone who came to Wheeler Park enjoyed the various activities -- face painting, games, dunk tank, silent auction and, of course, cheering on their schools as our principals launched their ducks into the air. Congratulations again, Coultrap Elementary School, for winning the DuPage Credit Union Lucky Duck Launch $500 prize.

We want to thank everyone involved -- we feel truly lucky to live in a community like Geneva. We look forward to seeing you all next year!
