Dispute led to Campton Hills shootings

The shooting deaths of a man and woman in Campton Hills Sunday afternoon appear to be the result of a domestic dispute, police say.

Kane County Sheriff's police officers found John Damico, 33, and Pamela, 32, dead after arriving at their home at Brown Farm Court in Campton Hills shortly after 3:35 p.m., just one day before Pamela's birthday, Kane County Sheriff's office Cmdr. John Marszalek said.

Officers heard shots being fired as they arrived. After securing the scene, they found the Damicos, both with gunshot wounds, he said.

Police are not looking for a shooter, Marszalek said.

"We're reasonably sure this is a result of a domestic," he said.

The 911 call, which reported gunshots fired, came from a family member who lives in the same neighborhood, Marszalek said.

The Damicos were the only people at the residence at the time of the shooting. No one else was injured, he said.

Kane County Coroner's office officials will conduct the autopsies at 3 p.m. Monday, Marszalek said.

Friends and neighbors gathered outside the home, which is part of a neighborhood of large houses surrounded by acres of farmland.
