Coloring Contest: In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, a coloring contest for all children through sixth grade will be held through Oct. 15. Coloring sheets will be available at the Youth Desk. Movie Night: See a family movie at 6 p.m. today. Wilbur the pig is scared of the end of the season, because he knows that come that time, he will end up on the dinner table. He hatches a plan with a spider that lives in his pen, to ensure that this will never happen. Rated "G."
Performing Arts Series: Sunday Sampler Change of Date: The Flamenco performance scheduled for Sunday has been rescheduled to 2 p.m. Nov. 18.
Evening Book Discussion: The Evening Book Discussion Group's first discussion will be about the book "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen at 7 p.m. Sept. 27. Books are available for special checkout. For more information, call Rich Erikson at (847) 546-7060, ext. 123.
Library Card Sign-up Month: During Library Card Sign-up Month in September, stop by the Round Lake Area Library and sign up for a library card. Welcome bags will be available for new card holders and will include library information, bookmarks, M&Ms and some discount coupons to local businesses courtesy of CHILLI'S, Kristof's and Dairy Queen while supplies last. Children with new cards are invited to the Youth Desk to receive an Arthur reading certificate and other goodies.
Patrons are invited to participate in weekly raffles at the Round Lake Area Library in celebration of Library Card Sign-up Month. Everyone who gets a new library card will be entered into the drawing. Every time patrons check out items they will be entered into the drawing. Quotes will be posted at the check-out station. Patrons who can guess who the author is can enter again. Winners can choose from the following prizes: A coffee mug, canvas library bag (courtesy of the Friends of the Library), and a $20 gift card to Regal Cinemas; or a water bottle, canvas library bag, and a $20 gift card to Regal Cinemas.

Libraries on the Air: Several Lake County libraries are participating in a radio program on Lake County's WRLR 98.3 FM. The program is scheduled to be broadcast weekly from 11 to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays. Anyone interested can also check out the program on live Audio Stream via Windows Media Player by visiting www.wrlr.fm and clicking on the On-Air Audio Stream link. The podcast Web site is lclota.podomatic.com.
E-Newsletter: Get monthly e-mail updates about Round Lake Area Library news and events by signing up for the library e-newsletter. Go to the library's home page, www.rlalibrary.org, and click on the "Online catalog" tab, then on the "My Account" option, and fill out the "Register for E-mail Notification" information. Free Citizenship Classes: The library holds weekly classes from 6 to 7:45 p.m. on Tuesdays in the meeting room. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. Participants must know basic English.
