Carpentersville

• A Carpentersville man was arrested late Tuesday on two outstanding warrants, police said. Martin Balderas, 33, of 27 Pine St., was charged on the warrants with battery and resisting a police officer Aug. 15, 2004, police said. Balderas was held in the Kane County jail on $400 bond with a Sept. 21 court date in Elgin.

Elgin

• An Elgin man was arrested on drug charges at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Buena Vista Apartment Complex, police said. Quinzerick D. Span, 29, of 417 Ann St., was charged with possession of marijuana and resisting a police officer, police said. Span was held in the Kane County jail on $5,000 bond with an Oct. 1 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

• A Carpentersville woman was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop at 1 a.m. Wednesday at Regent and St. Charles streets, police said. Melissa D. Rosal, 22, of 150 S. Lincoln Ave. #202, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana after marijuana and cocaine were found, police said. She also was cited for an obstructed front windshield, police said. Rosal was held in the Kane County jail on $1,500 bond an Oct. 1 court date in St. Charles.

• A South Elgin woman was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Villa Street and Villa Place, police said. Michelle M. Mirandi, 31, of 349 Kane St., was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after cocaine was found, police said. Mirandi was held in the Kane County jail on $400 bond with an Oct. 1 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

• Burglars stole a camcorder, a digital camera, two watches, seven rings and seven necklaces together valued at $4,150 between 4:30 and 9:30 p.m. Monday from a home on the 500 block of Aller Street.

South Elgin

• Part of a water valve and a South Elgin water meter valued at $2,000 were stolen between Sept. 10 and 17 from a building under construction on the 100 block of South McLean Boulevard.

• Two tires on a trailer were cut between Sept. 3 and 18 on the 600 block of Martin Drive. The tires were valued at about $400, police said.
