School bus driver, student taken to hospital

A school bus driver and a 13-year-old passenger were taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora after the bus collided with a truck at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday in Sugar Grove.

The bus driver was identified as Rosa Guzman, 46, of the 1300 block of Monomoy Street in Aurora. The name of the teen, the only passenger on the bus, was not released. No further information on their condition was available from the police or from the hospital Monday evening.

According to police, a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado collided with the school bus at Snow and McCannon streets.

The driver of the truck was cited for failure to yield at an intersection. Police did not release the name of the driver because the driver is 16 and a juvenile.

Police said the truck had one passenger who is 14.

Neither the driver of the truck nor the passenger reported any injuries, according to police.
