Geneva
• Joseph M. Nathan, 18, of 227½ N. First St., was charged with retail theft after stealing a box of Claritin tablets, valued at $11.49, Saturday morning from Riley's Drugstore, 415 W. State St., according to police. He has an Oct. 16 court date.
• A St. Charles woman was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, driving without a valid license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after crashing her car on the 1900 block of Averill Road at 9:45 p.m. Sept. 13. While driving west on Averill, her car left the road and ended up west of Kautz Road on Route 38. She hit a "stop ahead" sign along the way. According to police, Delia Lopez, 40, of 34W948 N. James Drive told them that "everything went dark" before she lost control, and that it might have happened because she had just started taking an antibiotic that day.
Kane County
• Colin Wiersma, 18, of the 37W700 block of Woodgate Road in St. Charles, was arrested for driving under the influence at 10:49 p.m. Sept. 10 at Mission Hills Drive and Crane Road in St. Charles Township, police said.
• A resident of the 1300 block of Binder Street in Aurora Township reported about $500 in damage was done to a screen door around 11 p.m. Sept. 11.
• A resident on Ferson Woods Drive in Campton Township reported about $200 in damage was done to shrubs sometime between 11:45 a.m. Sept. 12 and 6 a.m. Sept. 13.
• Konstantin Ratchkov, 19, of the 200 block of East Street in Carol Stream, was arrested for driving under the influence at 12:12 p.m. Saturday at Elder Avenue and Oakwood Drive in Valley View in St. Charles Township, police said.
• Christopher Flaherty, 23, of the 1500 block of Indian Avenue in Aurora Township, was arrested for driving under the influence at 2:20 a.m. Saturday at Indian Avenue and Beckwith Street in Aurora Township, police said. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license, police said. He had apparently been driving a 1997 Mercury Sable that was in a one-vehicle accident, according to a police report.
• Kenneth Skelton, 42, of the 800 block of McKinley Avenue in Geneva, and Deborah Peters, 41, of the 3300 block of South Parnell Avenue in Chicago, were arrested at 12:58 a.m. Saturday and charged with stealing tools from a Habitat for Humanity construction site on Salina Avenue in St. Charles Township. Skelton was also charged with bringing contraband to a penal institution.
• A resident on the 200 block of Sunset Drive in Dundee Township reported a rock was thrown at a window at 1 a.m. Sunday. Damage was estimated at $475.
• Trinidad Baeza, 22, of the 1100 block of Peachtree Avenue in Elgin, was charged with operating an uninsured tractor trailer at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Route 47 and Silver Glen Road in Campton Township. He was also cited for having no front registration on his vehicle and using an unsafe tire, police said.
St. Charles
• Robert S. Kidwell, 21, of 511 S. 16th St., was arrested at 8:30 p.m. Sunday and charged with disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance on the 1600 block of South Seventh Court, police said. Kidwell was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 18.
• Edgar R. Cerrillos, 19, of 38W286 Route 64, was arrested at 2:19 a.m. Sunday and charged with improper lane usage and underage drinking on the 600 block of East Main Street, police said. Cerrillos was released with an Oct. 18 court date.
