Golf league raises $662 to fight cancer

The Hit or Misses Golf League at Randall Oaks Golf Course held a Rally for the Cure benefit Aug. 15.

The league raised $662 for Susan G. Komen Rally for the Cure. Organizer Anne Vodicka says, "We are proud to be part of this vital, cause-oriented women's golf program. Together we are helping to get the critical lifesaving message of early breast cancer detection out to the golfers as well as members of the community."

The rally, presented by Golf for Women Magazine, is a breast cancer awareness campaign for the nation's largest grass-roots women's golf program. More than 1.2 million people have participated in Rally for the Cure events since its inception in 1996. This is one of many times the club has pledged its support and teed off against breast cancer.

A field of 26 players competed at Randall Oaks with a closet-to-the-pin contest at the par-3 Rally hole.
